old course Description:

This is the second oldest golf course in the Algarve it is affectionately known as the "Old Course". The holes run through an umbrella pine forest and are laid out to take the best advantage of the natural contours of the contours of the land. The course is considered a typical example of the English style of course design. The first few holes are easy for the average player and with a reachable par-4s. The very challenging par-3 on the attractive fourth is a "Hole in One" potential. However, good club selection from here is required and accuracy is necessary. The ninth is noted for its demanding play for most golfers. On the back nine there are three challenging par-5s and the sixteenth provides a 522 metre needing good length and accuracy in the shot.

old course Directions:

Via Infante (A22) - Take Boliqueime Exit-11 and head south until you reach the first roundabout with traffic lights. Turn east onto the Road EN 125 to Vilamoura and continue for about 4 kms until next traffic lights. Turn right into Vilamoura and continue until the second roundabout. Turn left and when you reach the next roundabout proceed straight ahead. The entrance to the Club House is very visible to the left in about 200 metres after this second roundabout.
